Getting Started with Therapy & Evaluations

Neurodiverse Counseling is based in Massachusetts, with some of our therapists licensed to provide services in additional states such as Florida, North Carolina, Washington DC and more. Before booking your consultation, we encourage you to review our Therapist Profiles to ensure the therapist you wish to work with is licensed in your state. Our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, SimplePractice, allows you to access therapy and evaluation services from the comfort of your own home using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device.
How to Prepare for Your Virtual Session
-
Private Location: Set up your computer or mobile device in a private location where you will not be overheard or interrupted.
-
Sound Quality: Consider using headphones if there’s background or ambient noise where you are. This will improve sound quality and make it easier for you and your therapist to hear each other.
-
Video Quality: If you plan to use video during your session, please make sure there’s ample lighting so you and your therapist can see one another clearly.
-
Identify Goals: Consider what you hope to gain, whether it’s support through therapy or clarity from a diagnostic evaluation. Defining your goals can help guide the process and ensure your experience is personalized and meaningful.
